‘The farm House’ near Frankfort, Free State

My wife grew up in a farm in the north eastern side of the Free State, a province in South Africa and I had their house in mind when I painted this piece. The windmill (or Windpomp as it is called in the Afrikaans language) is very typical in SA as well as the adjacent cement dam, where farm children enjoyed swimming and playing on hot summer days, due to the absence of the modern day swimming pools as we know it.

Oil on canvas, framed

Framed size: 780 x 880 mm
